The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of William Newby can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: I am so sorry and sad for your loss. This man was a constant in many of my childhood memories. Mom started working with Bill when I was about 5. When I would be home sick from school and staying with my grandmother he would send home poster sized drawings for me to color. He would let me come sit in his lap to play the drums in between sets when Mom was singing with them. Every Christmas he would bring me those little candles of animals like you see in gatlinburg. He was a wonderful man and I am blessed to have had him in my life. Mom and I were planning on being there tonight but we are both under the weather. I am so sorry for not being able to be there. Your family is my thoughts.

Condolence: Dear Bill and Beth
I'm so sorry to hear of your dad's death. He was a dear friend of Tiffany and me. He was always kind and considerate. Many memories will be with me forever. I will always cherish the memories of Tiffany sitting in his lap while he played the drums. He was a great coworker, friend, and dedicated person to many civic organizations. Bill you will always be (little Bill) to me. Thank you for being such a great friend to Tiffany. We would be at the service but we are both sick. Love and prayers to you and Beth.

Condolence: Bill was a wonderful man who honored his community with his services to veterans and their families. He never met a stranger, and always had a wonderful story to share. I marched in the high school band, road the bus and took our band trips with "Billy"...he was a great friend since that time in the 1960's. He will certainly be missed by everyone around Kingston and Roane County. I have no doubt he's already busy in Heaven doing God's work.
